Reduce Skin Inflammation
Regular consumption of chia seeds can help sooth certain skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and rosacea. This is because chia seeds have anti-inflammatory properties due to the high concentration of omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids help the body absorb fat soluble vitamins while inhibiting pro-inflammatory C-reactive protein.
Mix them into smoothies, oats, or over salads to fit them into your daily diet!
Hydrate Your Skin
Not only can the consumption of chia seeds help give you that flawless glow, you can create a hydrating and exfoliating face mask using just a handful of ingredients!
Take two tablespoons of chia seeds, and add two tablespoons of water and allow them to soak for about 20 minutes. Add a teaspoon of coconut oil, and a few drops of a hydrating essential oil such as lavender, and mix to combine. Spread mask on your face (or other dry skin areas) and leave for 10-15 minutes before washing off!
Keep Your Puffy Eyes in Check
Chia seed oil works wonders for puffy tired eyes, as well as fighting off age lines and wrinkles. Using your fingertips, just lightly rub the oil over your eyelids and around your eyes.
Chia seeds can also help strengthen your nails! The fatty acids are back at it again and coming through with stronger, healthier looking nails and cuticles. Daily consumption of seeds, as well as moisturising your cuticles with chia oil can do great things for thin nails and dry fingers.
Strong, Shiny Hair
Chia seeds are full of plant protein, which will help your hair grow long and strong. Copper, zinc, and iron are also found in chia seeds and beneficial to hair health. Copper promotes the production of melanin, which will help delay the gray, and zinc and iron are good for the scalp and will keep your hair looking shiny and vibrant!
